Would recommend too, as always there to provide advice on relevant issues.
As you know, you have been helping us with our insurance for very many years and we have always appreciated your skilful advice and help.
I had recently had a kidney transplant and my wife realised the day before we were going on holiday that our travel insurance would not cover me.
Your team did a fantastic job and pulled out all the stops , providing us with travel insurance even though I answered yes to nearly every question with regards to do I have this , that or the other. On top of that the quote was excellent and I won't hesitate to come back for more insurance this year.
Congratulations in reaching 25 years in business. Quite an achievement in today's adverse economic climate for SME's.

A London law firm which has been delivering for clients for more than 25 years sets great store by its professionalism, accessibility and personal service. So it was only natural that it would look for similar qualities when it came to choosing insurance brokers. Simon O’Dowd, is a partner in Jenkins Law, which has its head office in Garratt Lane, London. It was established in 1983 and specialises in non-contentious work such as property and probate.
He has been using Greenfield Insurance Services for about five years on the recommendation of a client in the property development business.
“I think they are very good – I really do, and, in turn, I now recommend them to clients. I appreciate the personal contact I have with Greenfield and I have found James Mant to be very effective and obliging.”
Simon, who has been practising law since 1980, has used brokers in the past and prefers to let the specialists use their in-depth knowledge of risks and the insurance market to find and arrange suitable insurance policies.
“I originally used Greenfield for a quote on property insurance, and now they take the bulk of my instructions, including my personal insurance.
As specialists in their field, Simon said that he preferred to use the services of a broker rather than comparing the market himself and attempting to do something he felt he was not capable of doing.
“I really appreciate the personal touch. In my everyday life I do loads of things online, but it’s never as quick or simple as being able to pick up the telephone and speak directly to James.”
Many thanks for your assistance in this matter and your quick feedback, that’s great news and is appreciated, I can’t tell you how much easier it as been to deal with yourselves over the last two years in doing my contents insurance.as opposed to the previous insurer I used.
A big thankyou.
But he could have been forgiven for viewing things with some trepidation on September 15, 2000, when his premises were flooded during a deluge. Homes and businesses in Southsea, Hampshire, were covered by up to 5ft of water and raw sewage when more than 6cm of rain – the average rainfall for the entire month – fell in just one day. A pumping station was swamped by the flash flood, causing a total power failure which allowed raw sewage to escape into the floodwaters from the city’s drains.
“The restaurant was knee-high in water – there was damage to the carpets, the wallpaper and the lino,” recalled Mr Kadir, who is in partnership with Babul Miah.
While many people were left checking the small print of their insurance policies, Mr Kadir was relieved that his coverage had been arranged by Greenfield Insurance Services.
“All I had to do was make one telephone call. Everything was organised without causing me any extra anxiety. They took care of everything. I can remember James reassuring me and saying ‘leave it to me.’ “
About two years ago, Mr Kadir had cause to make another claim on his commercial insurance policy because of a small kitchen fire in the restaurant.
“Again I telephoned James and he was calm and professional and put me at ease by saying that’s what you pay insurance for.”
In the aftermath of the fire the restaurant was closed for only a single lunchtime, and the claim was dealt with expeditiously.
Added Mr Kadir, “ In my opinion it’s not all down to how much you pay for your premiums but more about the level of service you get.
“I have always received the best service. As a businessman I prefer dealing with other professionals on a one-to-one basis. I don’t have to telephone and wait in a queue for a reference number and repeat my details to several different departments. “
Mr Kadir, whose family is originally from Bangladesh opened Bombay Express in Southsea’s Albert Road in 1992 and has seen the premises expand from a seating capacity of 28 to 150.
Although the restaurant is fully licensed, he allows his patrons to bring along their own wine and beer, as he believes it can create a better dining-out atmosphere on busy evenings when you do not have to experience a delay in bar orders.
Mr Kadir now believes that with Greenfield he has nurtured a personal friendship as well as being a policy-holder.
“For me especially, being in the restaurant trade, I need to be able to delegate and have someone I can trust to take some of the work off my shoulders.
“Personally, I think that I work hard and with the excellent service Greenfield provides it doesn’t make my life harder.”
"I have had business connections with Greenfield Insurance Services in the past and have found their services to be exceptional. We had absolutely no hesitation in appointing them to arrange our insurance needs."
"I have used Greenfield Insurance Services for the past 6 years. One of the most important aspects of their service is that I know that I can always pick up the telephone and speak to them regarding any queries that I have. Stephen Greenfield will always make time for us to explain or verify insurance points. I would have no hesitation in recommending GIS to other businesses"
"The service is excellent. Just a telephone call and things get sorted out – it’s very efficient,” he said. “The main benefit to me is the ease of operations. There’s no succession of form-filling and dealing with different departments. With Greenfield someone takes responsibility and gets on with it".
"We have been a client of Greenfield Insurance Services for the past 10 years. We use them because of the Personal Service that they offer - "the customer always comes first". This is very important to us, they always do what we ask, they take up issues on our behalf and ensure that the insurance is tailored to our business needs. They are very helpful and responsive. I would recommend their services to other businesses."
Winterslow Carriage Company, which is based in Timsbury, near Romsey in Hampshire, has built up a reputation in trading with the discerning driver. It specialises in prestigious vehicles including sports models, classic cars, 4x4s and cars of quality.
Proprietor Richard initially set up in business in 1975 and had been renewing his insurance cover down the years almost as a matter of course.
A few years ago he was introduced to the commercial partners of Greenfield Insurance Services. “I had been with the same provider for 16 years, so they weren’t going to make me change very easily,” he recalled.
Richard needed protection to encompass all motor trade risks, including specific insurance requirements to indemnify the business against loss in the event of a car being bought at auction turning out to be a stolen vehicle.
He was delighted with the insurance policy Greenfield tailored for him, as it met his needs - and saved him £1,700.
“Now I have been using Greenfield Insurance Services for two years and have found them to be very thorough and professional to deal with. It’s nice to deal with people who do what they say. I would recommend their services to anybody,” said Richard.
In the spring of 2007 he had first-hand experience of just how proficient the claim-handling side of the firm is when a car careered off the road outside his business premises.
“The car came to rest upside-down. Our heavy sign came crashing down and damaged three cars and another car was damaged when it was hit by a large planter. In total the damage amounted to more than £17,000,.” said Richard.
In his initial telephone call to Greenfield he was given authorisation to erect a new perimeter fence and sanctioned to engage people with lifting equipment to remove the one-ton sign.
“When you have a major upset the last thing you need is to telephone somebody up and be left waiting in a queue. This matter was dealt with immediately and the service provided by our broker was excellent,” he commented.
Richard, who followed his father Jim into the motor trade, discovered at an early age that he had a flair for finalising business deals. As a pupil at Priestlands School in Romsey he once sold a watch to a teacher, and bartered with several of his classmates.
“My father was in the motor trade since the early 1960s and as a child it seemed that every boy loved cars, so in some ways it was a natural progression for me.
“I started trading from my sister’s house and then had a small workshop. We’ve been trading from the Timsbury premises since 1995.”
Winterslow Carriage Company, now has a virtual showroom for its vehicles, and attracts customers from all over the UK as well as Ireland and France.
But he is also a man of discernment and like many successful executives he believes in shopping around in order to locate value-for-money suppliers of goods and services.
Peter is the Managing Director of Power Batteries Ltd., a market leader in the distribution of battery products and associated services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He is in charge of a workforce of 15 at the company’s UK premises at Abbey Park, Romsey in Hampshire, and has built a strong reputation for providing battery power and sophisticated applications within various business sectors including the telecommunications, mobility, data-processing, marine and leisure markets.
Peter, a qualified power electronics engineer, rose through the ranks of industry and has worked in managerial roles since the early 1980s, both at home and in the Far East.
He took over the reins of Power Batteries Ltd. in 2000, and as sometimes happens with a management reshuffle, decided to evaluate the services of existing supply companies, and if necessary, replace them when contracts came up for renewal.
“I believe that Greenfield Insurance Services was one of the very few which actually survived,” said Peter, signifying the esteem in which the independent brokers are held.
“It is a very personalised service. On occasions Stephen Greenfield has gone to considerable lengths to secure specialised underwriting if we have needed it.
“Through the provision of specialist insurance services it has enabled us to take on and succeed with other business opportunities.”
Peter paid tribute to the manner in which Stephen adeptly nurtured connections with underwriters, and said he also appreciated the fact that Stephen was very proactive in his role.
“He undertakes regular reviews and will point out additional facets that can benefit the business,” he added.
Peter commented that he was more than satisfied to let Greenfield Insurance Services take care of the major insurance requirements of his company.
“It works for us”, he stated. “You have to have peace of mind with insurance. You need to make sure that it’s all in place; that it’s effective and gives you the proper cover.
"I have been a client of Greenfield Insurance Services for 15 years. I would highly recommend their services and in fact do recommend them to other businesses. They are efficient, helpful and take the time to listen. When I have made a claim, it was dealt with immediately by GIS partner James Mant, it’s this type of service and level of service is why I renew my policy year after year with them"
